"After seeing the brilliant reviews, we thought we'd try here a couple of weeks ago as our usual place has deteriorated after a change of ownership. I now wish we'd taken this decision long ago as we've been missing out on the great food served here by Raz. Following others recommendations we've settled for the Jumbo and can confirm others views about this treat. The fish itself is white and tasty, the batter crisp and cooked to perfection and as for the size, even shared my wife and I find it more than meets our appetite. Superb quality and at a very reasonable price. The staff here are so friendly, cheerful and chatty. I absolutely recommend you give it a try and you won't be disappointed."

"100% the best chippy in Cas and surrounding area by far. The fish... perfectly cooked, so fresh and moist, fished from Norway. The chips were so soft and cooked to absolute perfection! Most of all... people... please ask for their large fish... my god... it's massive, I'd say twice the size as Captain's basic portion that they make in Ponte (was my number 1 before I found this place) and guess what... it's only a quid more! Bloody brilliant! Honestly, you could feed 3 people from just that one portion! Honestly... you've got to try this place if you haven't. And the folks running it... what truly wonderful people. "My review for Fish and Chips Appreciation Society. 134 Hugh St, Castleford WF10 4DX Jumbo Haddock, Chips, Curry Sauce. £11.30 Cooked in Beef Dripping. Chips were from Sagita Pototo's. Called here as my intended target chippy was closed. Let me start by saying my photo is poor due to being in a steamed up car with a dog trying to pinch my chips. Also I dont usually like them in a box, but needs must when the dog is with me. The Haddock was absolutely huge, so big it had to be broken to get in the box. The batter was delicious as was the fish itself, huge white chunks of fish. Infact ive not had a fish as tasty since visiting East Park and Pollards in Hull. If I had one small negative there was a slight amount of flour residue inside the batter. But it didnt detract from the taste. Chips again were lovely, crispy outside, fluffy inside and great tasting. Couldnt find fault at all. Curry was the fruity variety I like and was spot on. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to anyone. A really deserved 9+ for me. Best I've had in months."
